Hi there Today I started sewing a pair of cuffs to match my gown for the upcoming Wgt In abut one month. At first I thought of making a pair of white elizabethan cuffs but I ended up sewing a romantic pair of ivory cameo cuffs ! I really like them so I decided to list them at my store soon as well ! I hope you like them

Huh, I always thought of Victorian garb going for form over function. Never thought it went for practicality :D Now I feel stupid for not knowing the backstory and proper use of cuffs :(

I was about to give the lecture about costume history, but I see I have been beaten to it :D What else do you plan for WGT? I am going for a more witchy/nugoth look, it was to hot last year in corset all the time :D

H there :) Dear Jazzy these cuffs are unisex and fit most of victorian looks! I was very buzy today so I could't take a proper photo of the completed cuffs ,but I will do it tomorrow :) Dear Evixrodd I totally agree with Grunther :) You wear them over the sleeves and they are practical !

@Evixrodd Before the period of washing machines, it was hard and expensive to wash out the stains from shirts. So, cuffs where worn over the sleeves of the shirt to protect them while eating, handling a horse or writing. That is why it was fashionable for the sleeves of a jacket to be a bit short and cuffs showing in entirety. Practical :D

Wgt In. ? Whatever it is must be important and official becouse this handmade cuffs are more than desirable for that.
